The Graduate Certificate in Environmental and Resource Economics (GCERE) at Portland State University offers an introduction to important analytical tools, including cost-benefit analysis. Students in the certificate are both mid-career professionals and any student in a Master’s degree program at PSU.The GCERE offers small classes and expert faculty. GCERE faculty have done years of research in areas including:
- Nepal
- Ethiopia
- coral reefs in Okinawa, Japan
- land conservation related to climate change
- economic impacts of fracking

Our students are both current Master’s students and mid-career professionals. Master’s students use it to round out their education with an emphasis on the environment and resource economics.
