Master in Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution offers three graduate credentials in a cohort model: A Graduate Certificate in CR, a Graduate Certificate in Applied CR, and the full MA/MS at Portland State University. The Certificates will admit 12-20 students per year.

Quick Facts

Full-time Duration: 2 years
Starting in: September
Tuition Fee: $601 per credit
Location: Portland Campus (Portland, United States)

The full master’s degree at Portland State University is highly selective and will only admit 4-6 students per year. In a given academic year, full-time graduate students can expect to take their first 20 required credits together as a cohort.

The Applied Certificate and MA/MS students will then fan out into their elective classes and can expect a few advanced undergraduates in their courses, per the norm at Portland State. Then, the full master’s degree students will then complete their final 12 credits as a smaller cohort in specialized classes that support their culminating experience (Project or Thesis).

One of the best ways to learn about our graduate program in detail is to read the Graduate Handbook. In it you will find a very thorough description of program expectations as well as the general requirements for successful graduate study in Conflict Resolution.
